Wouldn’t you love to visit a kid friendly location where your babies, toddlers and even teenagers can all enjoy some good ol’ family time?! 2016 was full of adventures for us, living in Southern California definitely has its perks! Check out these cool places…
I created a list of 10 FREE Splash Pads in the Los Angeles area that you can enjoy with your children. Pack up your lunch tote and refreshments, and gear up for some fun water play! Read the full post here. PS, I love packing PB&J sandwiches because they don’t need condiments that need full day refrigeration.
My little guys have a love for the western lifestyle. They absolutely love being on the ranch – riding horses, petting the mini pig, and feeding the animals carrots and apples. It’s a family hobby and we’ve been taking Sonny for horseback lessons since he was 2 years old. Call us all crazy for putting him on a tall horse for his little toddler self. We love Copper Horse Riding Ranch, Miss Tammy and Miss Jenna have become family, they’re passionate instructors and love kids (and of course – the animals waayy more! lol jk). We always recommend their ranch to our family and friends for some cool western birthday party bookings, or simply – lessons for new and experienced riders.
The Los Angeles Natural History Museum was a little drive away, an easy 45 min car ride for us. It’s in the heart of California (LA) and was a great spot for us to chill and escape the summer heat wave. You can see some of my pros and cons from our first visit with the boys (on this post here) – keep in mind, we little Zachary who was only 11-13 months old and Sonny was nearly 5 yrs old. It was worth the little 2-3 hour visit. We loved the ice-cream cart and snacks that were sold outside. So take some cash, a small stroller and enjoy the museum. You can prepare your family for a mini picnic if you have a few hours to truly relax and check out the other museum next door.
We had the best time this summer at Sea World San Diego! Truly was my favorite place to visit, they had so many great interaction and it was sooo educational. We took our own snacks in the park (saved some money!), got to see lots of interesting shows and cool sea creatures. The weather was perfect, we recommend that you take a sweater for those random chilly moments. I have a blog post about the ticket prices and a cool video you can see from our trip.
Placerita Nature Center is the only place that I let my boys run wild like little squirrels. Sonny was quick to go explore, making him feel like a hunter and outdoorsman. Zachary was helping us enjoy the scenery by going through the hike at his pace.
Knott’s Berry Farm is a hidden gem, you’ll love the western theme and awesome funnel cakes! It’s perfect for your next family adventure. You can find my full blog post here and check out how I saved a bit of money while on this adventure with our family.
