Looking for a mild and easy green salsa recipe? This is an authentic mexican recipe that you can add to your tacos or serve with chips. It’s full of spice and flavor! You can kick up the spicy twist by keeping more of the seeds from the serrano chile peppers. My family loves to use green salsa as a topping for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Depending on how much the produce cost is at your local market, on average, you can purchase the ingredients and make one pound of green salsa for under $1.50 and it can be stored when refrigerated. Make this salsa for any occasion and you’ll stay within your grocery budget and have plenty for a few days.
When roasting your peppers and green tomatillo (tomato) your house may stir up pepper fumes and unexpected coughing from your family, it’s normal. You’ll possibly feel like you’re choking 😜 with the roasting pepper fumes, just start up your stove top vent, open up some windows or turn up that air conditioning unit.
Supplies to consider for this recipe:
- Steel Stove Top Comal (tortilla warmer)
- Foil Sheets
- Ninja Blender
You may already have these items at home, a quick money saving tip is to use a griddle or nonstick pan and layer foil sheets over it so you can roast your vegetables if you do not have a comal.
