1 . Yosemite
The Yosemite National Park in California spans almost 1,200 square miles of beauty. Here you’ll find ancient Sequoia trees, glorious waterfalls, striking cliff faces, and awe-inspiring rock formations. The most famous landmarks include the rock formations El Captian and the Half Dome.
At Yosemite park, you can experience climbing lessons and guided tours, or set off on your own hiking expedition. Tunnel View is considered to be one of the best outlook points; from the vantage point you can take in some truly stunning views of Yosemite Valley. Glacier Point is another amazing outlook point, from here you’ll get panoramic views, including Yosemite Falls.
Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park lies on the border between the US and Canada. It’s a hiker’s dream, with plenty of different trails, ranging from easy to challenging. The National Park boasts several mountain ranges, waterfalls, and over 700 lakes. With over 1 million acres of woodland and wildlife, there’s plenty to explore.
Glacier National Park is home to the famous historic landmark, ‘Going-to-the-Sun Road’, a scenic drive that spans 52 miles. You’ll find Waterton Glacier within the park, a famous UNESCO World Heritage site. The park is also home to the Apgar Nature Center, where there are ranger-led talks and educational activities for children.
As you’ve probably guessed, the Grand Canyon is certainly one for the bucket list! The canyon expanded over a period of around 6 million years, today it’s around one mile deep with an 18-mile width. It’s a top UNESCO World Heritage site that attracts around 6 million visitors each year.
The Bright Angel Trail is one of the most popular routes for hikers and tourists. You’ll find that Yavapai Point is a great place for truly spectacular views. Cuyahoga Valley National Park
The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is located on the Cuyahoga River, in Ohio, between Akron and Cleveland. There are several stunning waterfalls to marvel at, including Brandywine which is one of the most famous. Ohio has plenty to offer the traveler, so it’s well worth exploring a few of the top tourist sites.
